About The
Bloomin' News
The Bloomin' News is published by the American Florists' Exchange / Los
Angeles Flower Market every other month (January, March, May, July,
September and November). The publication was started in October 1949 by
the Southern California Floral Association, which operated the two major
wholesale flower markets* that, along with storefront vendors, today
comprise the Los Angeles Flower District in the 700 block of Wall Street
in Los Angeles. Today's Bloomin' News features from 16 to 24 pages,
but at one time, our newsletter was published monthly in 32 or more
pages. For a brief period, it also included the newsletter of the
California State Floral Association. In its first 20 years, its pages
featured popular columns, occasional stories and long-running ads by
local florists, shippers, wholesalers, wire services and others. It's
always been a popular place for the Los Angeles area floral industry to
get together. We are pleased to be able to offer this great tool, The
Bloomin' News, for retail florists, designers, event and wedding
planners, wholesalers, growers, vendors and Market tenants to stay in
touch with each other and up-to-date on the events and news of the
floral industry both locally and nationally.
